Sagacity Health
Privacy notice
Plain English, no small print. Your health is personal, and we treat it that way.
Last updated 12 July 2026.
Who we are
Sagacity Health is run by Denise Parris, a Nutritional Therapist registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). For the data you share with us, Denise Parris is the “data controller” — the person responsible for looking after it — and is registered with the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a data controller. You can reach us any time at hello@sagacitynetwork.app.
What we collect
The things you tell us as you use the app: your name, the health conditions and food preferences you share when you join, your daily check-ins, meals, symptoms, journal entries, prayer requests, goals, the dishes you ask the kitchen companion to adapt, and — if you choose to add them — photos of your meals. Some of this — anything about your health, and your meal photos — is treated as “special category” data under UK data-protection law, which means it gets the highest level of care. Meal photos are optional, kept private to you, and deleted when you delete that meal.
You can also add optional personal touches to your profile — a photo, a mobile number, your birthday, your home church, and a life verse or a note about your “why”. These are all optional. Your profile photo is shown to you and to the members of any circle you join; the rest stay private to your account unless you choose to share your journey (below).
When you log a meal, we also show you an estimate of its calories and nutrients. To work that out, the app looks the foods up in public nutrition databases using generic food names only (for example “brown rice, cooked”) — never your name or anything that identifies you.
Why we can hold it
For your health information, our lawful basis is your explicit consent — you choose to share it, and we ask for that consent clearly before we store it, so the app can tailor recipes, swaps and guidance to your body and your heritage. For the rest (running your account, remembering your settings), we rely on providing the service you’ve asked for. We never share your data for advertising, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account (see “Your rights”).
Who else touches your data
We keep the circle small. Three trusted services help run the app, and each only handles what it needs to:
Supabase
Securely stores your account and everything you log. Your data lives on servers in London.
Vercel
Runs and delivers the app to your device.
Anthropic (Claude)
Powers the app’s AI touches. When you use the “adapt a dish” companion, the dish you name plus your health conditions and food preferences are sent to Claude. When you ask for a reflection on a meal you’ve logged, the meal details and — if you added one — your meal photo are sent to Claude to write that gentle note. In every case it’s used to answer you in the moment — not to train anything, and not for advertising.
Nutrition databases (USDA & Open Food Facts)
To estimate the calories and nutrients in a recipe or a meal you log, the app queries these public food databases using generic food names only (e.g. “wholemeal bread”). Nothing that identifies you is ever sent.
Where your data is kept
Your account and everything you log — including your meal photos — are stored in the United Kingdom (London). The exception is the AI features: when you adapt a dish or ask for a reflection on a logged meal, that request (and any meal photo you added) is processed by Anthropic in the United States. That transfer is covered by the standard legal safeguards for sending data outside the UK (contractual protections in Anthropic’s data-processing terms). If you’d rather your data never leave the UK, simply don’t use those AI features — everything else stays here.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, so your history and progress are there when you come back. When you delete your account, everything is removed straight away.
Cookies
We only use the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. There’s no advertising, no third-party tracking, and nothing that follows you around the web — so there’s no cookie banner to click through.
Your rights
It’s your data. You can, at any time:
- Download everything we hold about you, as a single file.
- Delete your account and all of your data, permanently.
- Correct anything — your profile is yours to edit whenever you like.
- Withdraw your consent to us holding your health data — deleting your account does this in full.
The first two live on your profile page, under “Your data”. If you’re ever unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Sharing within a household
If you join a household, you share your meal plan, shopping list and saved recipes with the other members — and only those. Your check-ins, journal, symptoms and mood stay private to you, even from your household, unless you choose to share them with our practitioner (see below).
Sharing with our practitioner
By default, no one — including Denise — can see the content of your meals, symptoms, check-ins, mood, journal or prayer requests. You may choose to turn on “Share my journey with Denise” in your settings. Only while that is on, and only Denise (our CNHC-registered Nutritional Therapist), can view your meals, symptoms, check-ins and prayer requests to offer you personal encouragement and guidance. She may leave you notes, and may keep private practitioner notes about your progress. You can turn this off at any time, which stops the sharing. This is optional and never required to use Sagacity Health.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For anything significant, we’ll let you know in the app.
